Farmers’ winter meeting planned in Snyder County

MIDDLEBURG — The Snyder County Conservation District, along with AgChoice Farm Credit, Mifflinburg Bank & Trust, L & M Seed Dealership, Doebler’s, Rosetree Consulting, RHP Law Group, LLC and Susquehanna Valley Veterinary will host an agricultural winter meeting on Friday, February 17, 2017, at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 3939 Park Road near Selinsgrove. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.  The meeting is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

The Conservation District is applying for Pesticide credits and Manure Hauler/Broker credits from the PA Department of Agriculture.

Topics include: crop insurance, manure storage and handling safety, conservation district and U.S. Department of Agriculture updates, and agricultural conservation practices. Penn State Extension has agreed to talk about pesticide safety and agronomic crop production.

Lunch is $5.00 per person. Pay at the door. Call 570-837-3000 for reservations at the Conservation DistrictOffice by Friday, February 3, 2017.

If assistance to participate is required, contact the Conservation District by February 3, 2017, for coordination.
