Lions get 2025 men’s golf schedule

ALTOONA – The four-time defending Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference champion Penn State Altoona men’s golf team released its 2025-26 schedule.

The Lions are currently scheduled to compete in a total of 24 rounds across 12 events this season, with additional dates to be added for the spring semester.

Penn State Altoona’s season opens with split-squad action the final weekend of August, as one team will compete in the Pitt-Bradford Invitational on Saturday, August 30, at the Pennhills Club, while another will golf in the Ted Barclay Invitational, hosted by Denison University at Denison Golf Club, on Saturday, August 30, and Sunday, August 31.

The Lions pick up their schedule on Tuesday, September 16, for their yearly battle with non-conference rival Westminster College in the 5th Annual Hite Cup. That day’s round of match play will be held at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier.

Next, Penn State Altoona hits the road for more split-squad play. One team will head for Mission Resort + Club in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla., to play in the NCAA National Championship Preview on Sunday, September 21, through Tuesday, September 23. Another Lions unit will compete in the annual Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Family Invitational, hosted by Allegheny College at The Country Club of Meadville on Sunday, September 21, and Monday, September 22. The month concludes when Penn State Altoona will co-host The Northeast Elite with Penn College on Sunday, September 28, and Monday, September 29, at Williamsport Country Club.

October begins with Penn State Altoona hosting a two-day tournament on its home course, as the Lions welcome a field of teams to play in the inaugural Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic on Sunday, October 5, and Monday, October 6. Postseason play takes place the week after that, as the Lions and Mount Aloysius College will co-host the AMCC Championships on Monday, October 13, and Tuesday, October 14, at Toftrees Golf Resort in State College. The AMCC champion gets the conference’s automatic berth to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships in May 2026.

Penn State Altoona returns to regular-season play by hosting the Region V Showcase on Monday, October 20, and Tuesday, October 21, at Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio. The Lions wrap up the fall semester in Greensboro, N.C., where the team will take part in The O’Brent Jensen Memorial on Monday, October 27, and Tuesday, October 28, hosted by Guilford College at The Cardinal by Pete Dye.

The Lions will resume their regular season in Spring 2026, including a pair of events already on the schedule. Penn State Altoona will host its annual PSU tournament on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, when the Lions will run the Pennsylvania Classic at the Penn State Blue Course in State College. Also on the docket for the spring is the 53rd Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Championship, set to happen Friday, April 10, through Sunday, April 12, at Paradise Point Golf Course in Jacksonville, N.C.
