Curve loses third in a row to SeaWolves, 4-3

ERIE, Pa. – Altoona dropped their third straight game at Erie’s UPMC Park on Thursday night, 4-3. Erie’s Trei Cruz singled home Danny Serretti to send Erie to their second straight walk-off win over Altoona.

Alessandro Ercolani tossed the first three innings of the contest for Altoona, allowing a pair of runs on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts. The SeaWolves knocked four hits in the third inning off Ercolani, including two doubles to tie the game 2-2.

Sean Sullivan made his season debut for the Curve in relief, spinning two scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts and just two hits allowed. With runners on first and second and one away in the fifth inning, Sullivan forced a double-play ball to exit the frame unscathed.

Cy Nielson tossed two scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts before Fineas Del Bonta-Smith worked a scoreless eighth inning. He took the loss after allowing back-to-back hits to open the ninth inning.

Altoona scored a run in the second on an RBI double from Imanol Vargas and added another run in the third on an error by Erie’s shortstop. After the SeaWolves drew even in the bottom of the third, Altoona took the lead with an RBI single from Sammy Siani in the seventh.

Mitch Jebb reached twice in the game, extending his on-base streak to a team-best 15 straight games. Jack Brannigan also picked up a hit in the game, extending his on-base streak to 14 straight games.

The Curve continue their six-game series at Erie’s UPMC Park on Friday evening, Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers at 6:05 p.m. RHP Garrett McMillan will start for the Curve in his Double-A debut with RHP RJ Petit slated for the SeaWolves.
