Huskies split with Carlisle
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County Junior High volleyball earned a split against Carlisle on Wednesday.
The seventh grade Huskies team (2-4) started off with another strong serving performance to take the first match of the evening in two sets. The Huskies won the first set, 25-15, and then the second with a score of 25-12. Olivia Bedlyon led the team with 11 aces while Mackenzie Resto added five aces of her own and Addyson Marks added four. Geneva Kelly added two aces and a kill in the effort.
The eighth grade Huskies team (3-3) fought hard but ultimately came up short by losing in two sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-18. Lily Curry dished out eight assists and Grayce Napikoski led the team with five kills and two aces. Jovi Bush, Lily, and Grayce each added three digs.
The Huskies are on the road next week, traveling to take on Millersburg on Monday.
TENNIS
Indians blank Tyrone, 7-0
TYRONE — Juniata tennis moved to 6-4 on the season with a 7-0 victory against Tyrone on Wednesday.
Darin Kint earned a 10-2 win in singles action. Sylvi Gaisior added a 10-5 victory and Josh Martin won his match, 10-4.
In doubles play, Jackson Sheets and Marissa Henry won their doubles match against Tyrone, 10-7.
Juniata visits Everett today at 4 p.m.
