Huskies clobber Panthers, 11-3

HARRISBURG — Mifflin County girls lacrosse defeated Central Dauphin East on Monday, 11-3.
The Lady Huskies were led by Mara Gallo who found the back of the net eight times. Hannah Sharp, Savannah Powell and Maddie Keefer each had a goal.
Lorynn Knepp, Gracelynn Beckenbaugh and Sharp each had an assist. Goalie, Joshlyn Tate, had four saves.
The Lady Huskies (2-6) travel to Carlisle on Wednesday.
SOFTBALL
Newport downs Juniata, 16-10
NEWPORT — Newport softball beat Juniata on Monday, 16-10.
Regan Lowrey went 5-for-5 with two doubles, four runs and three RBIs for Juniata.
Victoria Moore went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and four ribbies. The homer was Moore’s first career home run.
Sophie Smith was 1-for-5 with two RBIs for the Lady Indians. Savannah Marshall had a double and one RBI.
Kalynn Brown took the loss from the circle.
BASEBALL
Buffaloes bulldoze Indians, 11-1
MIFFLINTOWN — Newport baseball rolled by Juniata on Monday, 11-1.
Daylyn Kennedy had two hits for Juniata. Caleb Auker had the lone RBI. Drew Geedey added two hits. Kennedy and Gage Harlon each had a double.
Newport posted seven runs in the first two frames.
MCA outslugs Midd-West, 20-12
MIDDLEBURG — Mount Carmel beat Midd-West baseball on Monday, 20-12.
Braxton Smith had three RBIs for Midd-West with three hits, including two doubles. Colton Aumiller tallied two hits with two ribbies. Alex Trojan had three runs scored with an RBI.
Derek Keister had one RBI with a hit for the Mustangs.
Jason Klokis had five hits and two RBIs for the Red Tornadoes. Gabe Yuskoski belted two home runs. Clarke Cartwright had three RBIs. Damien Klimas had three RBIs.
TENNIS
Spartans edge Indians, 3-2
MIFFLINTOWN — Hughesville tennis dropped Juniata on Monday, 3-2.
In doubles play, Asher Wriglesworth and Dayton Miller defeated the Spartans, 6-4, 6-4.
Josh Martin and Jackson Sheets beat the Spartans, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

Huskies battle Indians
MILLERSBURG — Mifflin County Junior High was on the road Monday to take on the Indians from Millersburg.
In the first match, the Huskies were led by Jovie Kauffman who dished out five assists with Mackenzie Resto adding two kills. Kyah Bishop was solid on serve-receive while Chelsa Anewalt added two digs in the effort. The Huskies ultimately fell to the Indians in two sets with scores of 25-13 and 25-17.
The eighth grade team finished out the matchup by defeating the Indians in two sets with scores of 25-11 and 25-15. Lily Curry handed out 13 assists to multiple teammates. Grayce Napikoski led with four kills, while Ayden Long and Jovie Bush added three and two, respectively. Briah Moore had a solid effort on defense to help secure the win.
The Huskies will host Red Land on Monday, April 21 for their last home game of the season. Games are slated to start at 4 p.m. at the Mifflin County High School main gym.
