COCOLAMUS — East Juniata’s losing streak was extended to eight games on Monday as the Tigers lost to St. Joe’s, 69-34, in girls basketball.
EJ (6-11) got 13 points from Landyn Cramer and Madison Snyder added 11. Kennedy Seigler-Lewis chimed in with seven points.
St. Joe’s (15-1) got 16 points from Lauren Himes and 13 from Naomi Crispin. Alexia Luckovich posted 11 points.
“St. Joe’s has multiple weapons and they can win in more than one way. They can press and create turnovers, shoot the three ball, or work it inside to the post,” Tigers coach Laurel Amey said.
St. Joe’s tallied six three balls in the victory.
EJ has seven games left in the regular season and they must rely on a few of their strong points in order to close the year strong.
“We have to go into each game with energy and with confidence. We have to control the controllables in order to put ourselves in the best position to be successful,” Amey added.
What do the Tigers have to do in order to make the district playoffs?
“To make district playoffs, we have to finish .500 on the season and in the top eight of the District 4 2A rankings,” Amey noted.
Next, EJ hosts Line Mountain today at 7:30. The Tigers also visit Greenwood on Friday.
