COCOLAMUS — Dylan Trimmer posted 25 points and Ryan Schoppy had 29 points as Susquenita took care of business on the road versus East Juniata Monday evening, 76-63.

Colten Fry and Jacob Vega each tallied eight points for the Blackhawks (9-3).

“So, there’s one main thing we talked about during timeouts at halftime and again in the locker room. The corner threes that we weren’t contesting really hurt us. They hit three or four really early and that hurt. We managed to get out there for a little bit in the second quarter, but the second half we just didn’t contest the threes,” EJ coach Christopher Lenig said.

“And then when that wasn’t happening we were seeing a lot of the same thing we’ve been seeing all year: teams are getting the ball to the post and then kicking back out. On Thursday we’re going to face a team that’s bigger than what these guys are so we’re going to need to find a solution to the problem. One thing that was very encouraging was the second group that got in. They were doing a great job getting up and down the floor, getting some steals and fast-break points. So maybe that’s the direction we move in going forward.”

For the Tigers (3-10), Wrett Smith had 26 points and made 8 of 10 foul shots. Sam Kopacki provided 18 points and Jaiden May added 13.

EJ was outscored in the opening half, 40-24.
