St. Joe’s topples East Juniata, 63-50

BOALSBURG — St. Joe’s got the better of East Juniata in boys basketball on Monday, 63-50.

For EJ (5-12), Wrett Smith tallied 28 points and Sam Kopacki added 10. Nathan Carolus tacked on eight points, including two threes.

For the WolfPack, Stamm had 15 points and Bowen added 20.

St. Joe’s (10-6) outscored EJ in the first half, 37-22.

East Juniata visits Line Mountain today at 7:30.

Huskies split with Patriots

LEWISTOWN –The Mifflin County Junior High boys basketball squad was back in action Monday as they hosted Red Land. The Huskies walked away splitting victories with the Patriots.

The seventh grade team could not overcome a slow start and some cold shooting as they fell, 28-18. Landon Cunningham paced the Huskies with 10 points.

The eighth grade team got hot from the three-point line and came away with a strong victory over the Patriots, 31-29. Justin Cruz and Noah Bunch paced the Huskies with eight points each while Cooper Colyer added five. Four different Huskies knocked down three-pointers.

Both MC teams are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Lower Dauphin.
