Camping resumes at Port

PORT ROYAL — Port Royal Speedway and the Borough of Port Royal have come to agreement regarding camping on the track grounds.

This is a temporary agreement between the two as the parties continue to work toward a long-term agreement on camping at the speedway.

All rules regarding camping must be complied with, with emphasis placed on the ban on fires already put in place by the borough and speedway. Campers will receive a copy of the rules upon arrival at the track.

Individuals who had reserved camping spots in the past will first be offered the opportunity to renew those spots. Camper must notify the track by May 25 of their intent to claim their spot; any unclaimed will be open to the public.

Annual camping spots with electricity will be $500, a decrease of $200 as a result of the lost races and weather cancellations. Spots with electric service that are unclaimed available at a weekly price of $40 per night. Other spots will be $25 per night or $35 for a multi-day show.

Camping is not included for the American Flat Track event or the end of season Short Track Super Series event on the schedule.
