Strong 2nd half lifts the Indians

HERNDON — Juniata managed to squeak on by rival Line Mountain by the final score of 2-1 in a Tri-Valley League girls soccer game, on Tuesday.

All three goals were scored in the second half. Ashlyn Pennebaker and Reagan Lowery scored the two goals for the Indians. Hailey Kepner had eight saves.

Sage Hoover scored the lone goal for Line Mountain.

Juniata hosts Millersburg Thursday.

Girls soccer

Susquenita 2, East Juniata 0

DUNCANNON – East Juniata were defeated by Susquenita in a Tri-Valley League girls game Tuesday by the final score of 2-0.

Susquenita scored a goal in each half as its defense was able to keep the Tigers’ offense silent.

Grace Hibbs has 12 saves in the loss for East Juniata.

The Tigers travel to Line Mountain on Thursday.

Boys soccer

Midd-West 8, Jersey Shore 1

JERSEY SHORE — An offensive surge led by Nicholas Eppley carried Midd-West over Jersey Shore 8-1 in a PHAC boys soccer game, on Tuesday.

Eppley scored half of the Mustangs’ total team goals with four, Nate Hartman scored two and Kyle Ferster and Easton Erb each added a goal.

Midd-West travels to St. Joe’s Friday.

MIDDLEBURG – Julian Knainak and Kyle Beward carried Midd-West past Loyalsock in a PHAC golf match, on Tuesday.

Krainak and Beward not only had the best scores of the Mustangs, but for the entire match as well, with 35.

Midd-West travels to Williamsport today.

OAKLAND MILLS – East Juniata placed third in its Tri-Valley League golf match that featured Newport and Millersburg.

Tanner Barth led the Tigers with 84. In second place was Caleb Kirk who shot an 89, Tate Jamison was third on the team with an 91 and Max Lauver rounded out the top four with an 96.

East Juniata hosts a Tri-Valley League match on Thursday.
