Corbin guides MC to its 5th World Series
SCRANTON–Some times when you wish for something, it takes a little longer than you expect.
Mifflin County Babe Ruth manager Bill Corbin has been a manager in the the league since 1983 and a coach since 1979.
One of his dreams was to some day take a Mifflin County All-Star team to a World Series. His dream came true on Sunday as Mifflin County defeated Centre County, 9-3.
But, Corbin has been to several World Sereis, just not as a manager. He went in 1997 with the Mifflin County Senior Babe Ruth 16-year-old team as an assistant coach in Gulfport, Miss., and he also went in 2004 as an assistant coach on the 15-year-old team that traveled to Longview, Wa.
Corbin puts in a lot of work not only with an All-Star team, but also with his Belleville team. He is one of the best in game managers in the history of the league and always seems to be a step ahead of everybody else.
Hopefully, the wait will be well worth it for the longtime manger.
