Scholastic sports: Huskies’ Wise hits 6 treys in defeat

HUNTINGDON — Mifflin County struggled to contain the Huntingdon offense which had four different players who scored in double digits as the Huskies fell 72-52 in a non-conference boys basketball game on Friday.

Owen Wise was the lone Husky to score in double digits, producing a game high 18 points. Wise’s points came exclusively from 3-point range.

As a team, Mifflin County managed to make eight 3-pointers against the Bearcats.

Swimming

Mifflin County at PIAA District 6 Swimming Championships at State College

STATE COLLEGE — Mifflin County’s Rachel King finished seventh in the 200-yard freestyle at the District 6 Swimming Championships Friday at State College Area High School.

King also placed 10th in the 500-yard freestyle.

As a team, the Mifflin County finished in fifth place out of the six teams competing.
