Huskies fall to tough Wildcats roster

MECHANICSBURG — The Mifflin County girls basketball team fell behind early and never fully recovered against one of the top teams in the state as the Huskies fell, 64-40, at Mechanicsburg in a Mid-Penn Keystone Division contest on Wednesday night. 

 The Huskies trailed 38-19 at the half behind a stellar performance from the Wildcats’ Emma Castilla, who scored 12 of her 17 points in the second quarter. Gracen Nutt also scored in double figures with 13 points. 

 Marissa Gingrich was the only Husky to score in double-figures with a game-high 23 points. Brianna Bodtorf added six for Mifflin County. 

 The Huskies (7-8) return to action on Friday when they travel to Hershey for a Mid-Penn Keystone Division contest. The Huskies will face West Perry and District 6 opponents Tyrone and Bellefonte to wrap up the regular season.
