WINGATE–A goal in each half carried the Belleville Mennonite boys soccer team to a 2-0 win over West Shamokin in a District 6 Class A boys soccer semifinal match up on Thursday.

“I feel good about it,” Belleville Mennonite coach Brian Renno said. “I thought our midfield did a good job controlling the ball. Matthew Kauffman and Drew Mirello were defensive-minded and won a lot of balls.”

In the second half, Colton Sunderland’s shot found the back of the net, giving the Thunder a 2-0 lead and some breathing room.

Belleville Mennonite (9-8-1)will advance to the district title game that will be played on Wednesday at a place and time to be determined.
