Huskies net late goal, edge Hershey

HERSHEY–The Mifflin County girls soccer team received a strong offensive effort by Aubrey Strohecker on its way to a 3-2 victory over Hershey on Monday night.

Strohecker recorded a hat trick, including the game-winner in with three seconds left on the clock. Brynn Knepp recorded a pair of assists and Ella Kammerer assisted on the game-winner.

With the win, Mifflin County improves to 4-8, 4-6 in the Mid-Penn.

Mifflin County hosts State College on Wednesday night in the District 6 Class 4A semifinals.

Field hockey

Mifflin County 1

HARRISBURG–The Mifflin County field hockey team couldn’t survive an offensive onslaught by Central Dauphin on Monday night, as the Rams took a 6-1 victory in a Mid-Penn Commonwealth contest.

Mifflin County’s lone goal came from Hailee Sheetz. Coletta Beeler made 20 saves in the victory.

The Huskies travel to Carlisle today.

Volleyball

Penns Valley 3, Mifflin County 0

The Mifflin County girls volleyball team fell to Penns Valley in straight sets on Saturday morning, 25-8, 25-16, 25-17, in a non-conference match.

The Huskies were led by Audrey Jordan, who had six kills and five blocks in the loss. Gabby Wolfkill had a pair of aces, while Gianna Hoppel had five assists, three digs and a kill.

Mifflin County falls to 0-9 on the season. The Huskies lost the JV match as well in straight sets.

Mifflin County travels to Cedar Cliff today.

Set scores: 25-8, 25-16, 25-17.
