Lewistown tops Strodes

LEWISTOWN –The score was tied 5-5 going into the top of the sixth inning before Lewistown scored five runs and added one in the seventh to top Strodes Mills in the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League.

Lewistown used three pitchers. Ryan Hine started, Doug Weaver pitched the middle three innings and got the win, and Deakon Schaeffer pitched a scoreless seventh inning.

Strodes Mills had 11 hits. Jesus Guerrero had three hits while Grady Hoppel, Dupree Reed, Colin Fisher and Chris Moon had two. Fisher had the only extra-base hit with a double for Strodes Mills.

Lewistown also had 11 hits. Schaeffer had three hits while Aaden Earnest and Hine had two. Hine and Earnest each had a double and Schaeffer had a triple in the fifth when Lewistown scored five runs.

With the win, Lewistown is 2-4 and Strodes 1-5. Strodes Mills is tied with Lewistown for fifth place.
