Huskies swimming drops season finale

TYRONE–The Mifflin County swim team traveled to Tyrone where they fell in their final contest of the season. The girls team lost 103-64 and the boys lost 77-12.

The Huskies won seven individual events and the girls won the 400 freestyle relay.

Hannah Bonson finished first in the girls 200 IM and the girls 100 breaststroke with times of 2:21.48 and 1:14.33. Madeline Baisey also won two events, the girls 50 freestyle with a time of 28.32 and the girls 500 freestyle with a time of 6:40.66.

For the boys, Ethan Andrews won the 200 IM with a time 2:21.19 and the 100 backstroke 1:02.18.

Mount Union 36

HUNTINGDON–Mount Union could not stop the high powered Bearcats’ offense in their 61-36 loss on the road, Wednesday night.

Karrigan Woodward led the Trojans offense with 14 points whie Camille Posey added 10 point of her own.

Mount Union offense was inconsistent and relied on Woodward and Posey to tally the points. In the second quarter, Posey scored six of the Trojans’ 10 points and in the third, Woodward scored all eight of the Trojans’ points.
