Greenwood falls in districts, MC completes 2019-20 year

HALIFAX–The Greenwood boys basketball team let a 12-point lead slip away in the fourth quarter of a District 3 Class A playoff game Monday night as the Wildcats fell to Halifax, 47-43.

Halifax struggled all game to score, but Nathan Blasick stepped up and dropped 14 points in the final quarter to stun Greenwood, who managed just two points in the fourth.

Aaron Bollinger led the Wildcats with 18 points, while Thomas Pyle tacked on 12 of his own.

Despite the loss, Greenwood’s postseason is not over. Greenwood will continue in the district tournament where it will play on Wednesday night against an opponent to be determined.

LEWISTOWN — The Mifflin County Junior High girls basketball team completed the 2019-20 with another stellar season. The Junior High varsity team finished with a record of 18-2 while the Junior High JV team finished 13-6. in the last three years, the Junior High varsity team is 55-5 and the JV record is 39-20.
