Mustangs take second at the Cavalier Duals

Severn, Md.–Midd-West Mustangs took second place at the Cavalier Duels at Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Maryland.
The Mustangs lost in the first place match by a score of 40-37 to the hosts, Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers. Midd-West put up a great fight, despite forfeiting three bouts.
In the first place match, Carter Sauer (285 pounds) won his match in 15 seconds, while Ethan Zevan won by pinfall in 1:01 minutes.
Midd-West returns to action on Jan 23 when they host Central Columbia.
Over the weekend, Garrett Baublitz set the mile record at Kevin Dare Indoor Track & Field Invitational and Clay Yeager competed at Liberty University.
Juniata’s Senior Baublitz ran to a 1st place finish and broke the Kevin Dare Invitational mile record on Saturday at Penn State University. Garrett took the lead from the gun and never let up running a time of 4:20.36 breaking the old record of 4:20.74. Senior Tad Shellenberger competed in the 400 meters running a time of 55.58 good enough for 18th overall.
Senior Clay Yeager competed on Friday at the Virginia Showcase Indoor Track & Field Invitational.. Clay ran the 1600-meter run finishing with a time of 4:43.67.
All three boys, along with James Hazard, will compete again this Thursday, January 23 at State College #2 meet held at Penn State University.
