Mifflin County handles Harrisburg

HARRISBURG–Mifflin County wrestling put on a clinic against Harrisburg, winning all but two matchups in Thursday night’s competition. The Huskies won handily, 65-11.

Six Huskies won by pinfall, including Ethan Kauffman (138 pounds) and Blaine Davis (285) who each won their match in under 2 minutes.

Mifflin County looks to continue their hot stretch on Saturday when they host Manheim Central.

MOUNT UNION– The Trojans were defeated by Huntingdon in Thursday night’s wrestling match, 60-16.

Bryce Beatty, at 113 pounds, was the only Mount Union wrestler who won by pinfall. Jake Ryan (220 pounds) and Kevin Morehouse (132 pounds) each won by major decision for the Trojans.

Mount Union hosts West Branch on Tuesday.

MIFFLINTOWN–Juniata wrestling played host to Newport in Thurday night’s match. Newport won 48-25.

Chase Willis (182 pounds), Jonathan Kauffman (195 pounds), and Casey Smith all won by pinfall, earning six points each. Cameron Sweigart (120 pounds) won by major decision and Dominik Rowles (220 pounds) won by decision.

Juniata plays hosts during the Juniata Duals on Saturday.

MILLERSTOWN — Aaron Bollinger nearly outscored the entire Line Mountain team as the Wildcats grounded the Eagles with the score of 62-46 in a Tri-Valley League boys basketball game Thursday night.

Bollinger scored 42 points for the evening including going 16-for-17 at the free throw line.

Greenwood hosts Tulpehocken on Saturday.

HALIFAX — Despite a big performance from Jamie Bailer, the Indians fell short to Halifax 55-47 in a Tri-Valley League boys basketball game Thursday.

Bailer led the Indians with a team high of 23 points. Most of his points came from beyond the arc. In fact, the Indians nailed a total of 11 three pointers in the game.

Juniata travels to face Line Mountain Tuesday.
