Juniata Mennonite victorious

From staff reports

MCALISTERVILLE — It was a great day in the Portzline family as Anson Portzline tallied three goals and one assist while Avery Portzline finished the game with two assists as the Juniata Mennonite boys soccer team shut out DuBois Christian by a score of 5-0 in an Allegheny Christian Athletic Association interdivisional game Tuesday.

The Juniata Mennonite Lions’ offense was relentless, putting 16 shots on goal, while playing six corner kicks.

Anson Portzline got the offense started scoring the first goal of the game. He then assisted on the second goal, scored by Trey Tusing. Both of these goals were scored in the first half. Anson Portzline then added the Lions’ third goal of the half on a penalty kick.

Starting the second half, it was Anson Portzline again, who recorded a hat trick on an unassisted goal. For good measure, he added his fourth and final goal of the game, again assisted by Avery Portzline.
