THOMPSONTOWN - Loretta M. Ranck, 84, of Route 333, Thompsontown, passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born Feb. 4, 1929, in Salem, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Ira C. and Agnes C. (Strawser) George. Her husband, Warren L. Ranck Sr., died on Oct. 8, 1999.
Surviving are: three sons, Warren L. Ranck Jr. and wife, Mary, Harold E. Ranck and wife, Janie, both of Mexico, Pa., and Steven L. Ranck and wife, Ann, of Mifflintown; six daughters, Brenda Kepler and husband, Daniel, of McAlisterville, Diane Fry, of Mifflintown, Doris E. Mingle and husband, Jay, Sherry Wagner and husband, Michael, both of Thompsontown, Linda Wagner and husband, Ronald, of Mifflintown, and Laurie Gray and husband, Norman, of Port Royal; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth George, of Pennsville, N.J.; sister, Betty Johnson, of Thompsontown; two half sisters, Anna Mae Metzzer, of Thornville, Ohio, and Wanda Sarver, of Millerstown; and half brother, Frank Chambers, of Lewistown.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Joseph, Palmer and Junior George.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Joseph N. Yorks officiating. Interment will be held in the Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
The viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
