She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorraine Chamberlain and Violet Evans.

Mary graduated from Nyack College, New York, in 1951 and moved to Lewistown to become the child evangelism director for Mifflin County. Her life's desire was to tell others about following Jesus which she did until the day she was called home.

She was an active member of Lewistown Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, where she was involved in many ministries, including teaching Sunday school, directing vacation Bible school and Pioneer Club and singing and playing the piano for Sunday services.

As missions was her passion, Mary served as the Alliance Women's Missionary Fellowship district president for several years, guiding women to pray fervently for those missionaries serving at home and abroad.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Lewistown Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave., Lewistown, with the Rev. John Looney officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 25, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary's memory can be made to Alliance Women, 50 Hudson Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044 or Lewistown Home Health and Hospice: The Bridge, 305 Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
