MIFFLINTOWN - Multiple charges have been filed against a Perry County man accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a 10-year-old girl in February 2012, according to court documents obtained Tuesday from the office of Magisterial District Judge Barbara Lyter.
Dennis James Walton, 51, of Millerstown, faces a dozen felony counts for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault, as well as six misdemeanor counts for indecent assault of a juvenile, according to documents.
The charges stem from an investigation initiated by a report of suspected child abuse made to authorities by Juniata County Children and Youth Services. Documents indicate the 10-year-old girl was interviewed by a specialist at the Children's Resource Center on Feb. 21, 2012.

During the interview, the girl said that on one occasion Walton had her remove her clothing inside a residence, after which he allegedly touched her genital area, according to documents. He then allegedly directed the girl to perform a sex act on him, which she described as "unappropriate," documents state.
Documents indicate that during a follow-up interview, the girl said Walton had further inappropriate sexual contact with her three times over the course of several days. She was able to identify details of the alleged incidents using anatomical drawings provided during the interviews, according to documents.
Walton was arraigned in Lyter's office and placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on April 10.
