YEAGERTOWN - William B. Fye Sr., 63, of 18 Pretzel Lane, Yeagertown, died at 9:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at his residence.
Born on Aug. 24, 1949, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Berton A. Fye and Mary L. (Ritter) Platzer and the stepson of Albert Platzer, of Lewistown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Christopher Burke.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda K. (Tate) Fye, whom he married on Jan. 11, 1969, and his children, Jennifer Fye, of Lewistown, Billie Kay Johnson and husband, Jeffrey, and William B. Fye Jr., both of Yeagertown.
Also surviving are: siblings, Dorothy M. Burke and husband, Stephen, Sally-Jo Shultz and husband, Alan, Allan A. Platzer and wife, Debora, Larry L. Platzer and Carol, and Michael R. Platzer, all of Lewistown; his aunt, Dora Vega, also of Lewistown; seven granddaughters, Renae Nicole Fye and fiance, Tyler Nicholes, Lynzee Cheri Navarria and husband, Michael, all of Lewistown, Pandora Kay and Cheyenne Aileene Johnson, of Yeagertown, Georgia Elizabeth, Karlee Rose and Sammae Jo Fye, all of Lewistown; a grandson, Liam Vandall, of Alaska; one great-granddaughter, Aimeelynn Elizabeth Navarria; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bill was a 1967 graduate of Lewistown Vo-Tech.
As a young man, he worked on Solt's farm and later at W.B. Wagner, J.M. Bell Well Drilling, Foundry, Marlette, Overhead Door, and he finished his days as a handyman working primarily on furnaces and plumbing.
Earlier in life Uncle Bill loved to hunt and fish and liked muscle cars and riding his motorcycle. He also was a gun and coin collector, turtle trapper and chicken barbecuer. He loved to cook.
He was an amazing person, a great man and friend always willing to lend a helping hand.
Bill was a member of many local clubs.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc. Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Alfarata Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family in care of the funeral home.
