CHAMBERSBURG - M. Marie Yocum, 93, of Chambersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Providence Place.
Born Feb. 2, 1919, in McAlevys Fort, she was a daughter of Henry and Jessie (Bigelow) Miller. Her husband, James E. Yocum, whom she married Aug. 25, 1945, preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1994.
A graduate of Thompson Business School, in Harrisburg, Marie worked as an office assistant at New Holland Plant, in Belleville, for 23 years, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church and a past Worthy Matron of the Lewistown Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 283.
She is survived by: her daughter, Joan Kittrell and husband, Ed, of Naples Fla.; five grandchildren, Jo Ann McGettigan, of Sicklerville, N.J., Steven R. Yocum, of Townsend, Del., Rebecca Hoke, of Chambersburg, Robert D. Yocum, of Chambersburg, and George Campbell of Bensalem; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jay Miller of Petersburg.
Aside from her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by: two sons, James E. Yocum II and Robert H. Yocum; four brothers; and three sisters.
Services are under the direction of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center and will be held at the convenience of the family.
