THOMPSONTOWN - Harry A. Heisey Jr., 82, of Thompsontown, died on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at his home.
Born on Sept. 25, 1930, in Millerstown, Perry County, he was a son of the late Harry A. Jr. and Elizabeth (Farner) Heisey. On July 31, 1948, he married Evelyn J. (Brubaker) Heisey, with whom he shared more than 60 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on Feb. 11, 2009.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Spade and husband, Douglas, of Langhorne, and Mark Heisey and wife, Susan, of Thompsontown; a daughter-in-law, Deborah C. Heisey, of Mifflin; a sister, Marilyn "Manny" Resnick and husband, Michael, of Niles, Ohio; a brother, William Heisey and wife, Lee, of Lancaster; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

One son, Jeffrey E. Heisey, one daughter-in- law, Deborah Kay Heisey, two sisters, Jo Pressler and Janie Nagle, and one brother, David Heisey, preceded him in death.
Mr. Heisey was a 1948 graduate of Millerstown High School.
In earlier life, he was a truck driver for 15 years, after which he served as a mechanic for PennDOT, Mifflintown, before retiring as a mechanic from Standard Steel, Burnham.
Harry was a fixture at the Thompsontown Corner Deli, for breakfast, and the Thompsontown Post Office. He will long be remembered for his handmade fruitcakes.
In addition to being an avid hunter, in his earlier years, he was a lifelong jazz enthusiast and enjoyed dancing to the smooth tunes with his wife.
With all of his interests, Harry was also very involved with his grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown.
Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, at the funeral home.
