Deb Diven, left, and Mark McKnight, both employees of Lowe’s, volunteer their time Wednesday to renovate picnic tables at the blue pavilion at Derry Township Community Park. Through the Lowe’s Heroes program, the employees at the local store ask area organizations if they need anything done as a way to give back to the community. This year, the projects included the picnic tables and the construction of a rock wall, which will be part of a memorial to Lauren Metz, who was fatally injured by a falling tree branch at the park. A bench will be placed next to the wall, which is near the playground at the park, by the township.
