Robert W. ‘Bob’ Casey

MIFFLINTOWN - Robert W. "Bob" Casey, 79, of Mifflintown, died on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.

Born on July 8, 1933, in Crisfield, Md., he was the son of the late Ralph and Catherine (Black) Casey. On Aug. 16, 1958, he married his surviving wife, Carol Lou (Hetzel) Casey, with whom he shared more than 54 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: five children, Dennis L. Casey and his wife, Missi, Brian W. Casey and his wife, Mary, all of Mifflintown, Michael A. Casey and his wife, Tammy, of Millerstown, Kathy J. Zook and her husband, Joe, and Timothy S. Casey, all of Mifflintown; one sister, Emma Dean "Deanie" Soule and her husband, John, of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Valerie Schlegel and her husband, Nathan, Allison Sheets and her husband, Barry, Shannon Fisher and her husband, James, and James Casey; and two great- grandsons, Kayden and Conner Schlegel.

One brother, David W. Casey, preceded him in death.

Mr. Casey proudly served in the National Guard during the Korean War.

Early in life, Robert was employed as a certified welder for the Bethlehem Steel Co., Steelton, and later retired as a custodian for the Juniata County Courthouse.

Bob loved to fish and tend his garden. He also attended all of his grandchildren's sporting events, was an avid Penn State sports fan and was at one time involved with the Tuscarora Softball Association.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the Mexico Full Gospel Mission, Mexico, with Pastor Glen Peachey officiating. Interment will be private.

There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service Saturday, at the Mexico Full Gospel Mission.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Casey's memory to the Mexico Full Gospel Mission, 464 Gill Rd, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
