‘Flags for Heroes’ honored best in our community

The Rotary Club of Lewistown thanks the sponsors and the heroes so recognized during the just completed “Flags For Heroes” display in Kish Park over the consecutive Flag and Father’s Day weekends.
Fifty-three flags representing chosen heroes were arranged along the walking trail making for a truly impressive display. Those sponsors and the identified Heroes were: Nick & Gina Felice in honor of Michael A. Felice, Walter G. Ryniak and S. Gerald Hummel; The Care Network M-J Regional Services and M-J Area Agency on Aging in honor of all volunteers; Apprise Counseling Services, Ombudsmen, Home Delivered Meals; Jim Zubler in honor of Vianney Siennick; Colleen Parker in honor of staff of Future Care Cherrywood and all blood donors; Vianney Siennick in honor of Cindy Siennick; Dan Bennett in honor of Geisinger nurses and doctors, U.S. Postal Service workers, grocery and convenience store personnel, DG Swan Stull, Greatest “Small” Business Owners, DGN Vicki Zimmerman; Jennifer Pennepacker in honor of David L. The Rotary Club of Lewistown thanks those who supported this unique event during a time of great uncertainty in the community and world. Funds raised are used by Rotary to benefit a wide range of activities including the Big Valley Invitational cross country race, educational scholarships, polio eradication and other community projects.
