We are all imperfect, and that includes Politifact

To the editor:

Lets visit the 16,000-plus Trump lies — when? One week; one month; one year; four years?

I’m glad you use Politifact for your information, George. I’m sure you know the answers to questions I’m about to ask.

Article by Kelly Kincade May 4, 2017. “Do you know that Politifact has an editorial bias, but that bias is not clearly aligned?” Did you know that they decide whether an actually true statement is “mostly false,” “mostly true” and “half true.” How many of the 16,000 “lies” were actually true statements but fell under any of the three categories? Did some person decide he would dump them all in the “lie” category because it looks better in a newspaper article? Politifact has wide discretion depending on whether they think the person should have disclosed something they did not or that the statement was misleading — were you aware of that George?

Is it possible that Politifact, the independent fact checker who won a Pulitzer Prize for fact checking to combat “fake news,” is a project of the Tampa Bay Times, which endorsed Hillary’s 2016 campaign?

Is it true that Politifact does check statements from politicians of both parties but it seems to have a different set of evaluations for the parties? George, you are a polls follower and you believe that all polls are accurate. You may think of me as “naive.” I may be one and I extend a hearty welcome to your joining us. You’re coming in as a new member and will have to work up to being a seasoned deplorable.

Remember George, all our heroes have faults. President Trump was wrong when he said that Pelosi was unlawful tearing up the transcription of his address. He was wrong. He was upset at the juvenile behavior of the third in succession for the presidency. We all err, except for one. To err is human, to forgive is divine. I am not quoting from, the “book of myths” as you refer to the Bible but from an essay in criticism by Alexander Pope. Don’t roll your eyes.

For the purpose of brevity, I won’t go into who is paying for the wall. Please be aware of one thing: When a Democrat refers to a budget cut, he/she will not explain that it is a cut in the extra money expected to receive in the next budget year.

The last paragraph in your rebuttal Mr. G. about my belief that The Sentinel is unbiased, and I quote “Well, Charlie Boy, if you believe that then I have some swampland on the moon to sell you cheap.”

My response: I do believe it and for some economically-challenged liberal who acquired swampland on the moon (possible result of an ad in the classified section of an unnamed newspaper), shame on him for trying to pass it on to a naive conservative deplorable. Give it your best shot, George, I’ll not respond.

Last suggestion, George: Occasionally take a deep breath and then come back in again fighting. Just be sure that what you’re fighting for is what you’re content to live with.
