Alternative Gift Fair can’t happen without support

To the editor:

The Alternative Gift Fair Committee of East Kish Presbyterian Church in Reedsville would like to take this opportunity to thank all who helped make this year’s fair a success. For the first time this year, it was held on two days and included a Ten Thousand Villages Sale. We thank all of those who contributed to the 15 organizations at the Alternative Gift Fair, raising a total of $5,315, and also all who supported the Ten Thousand Villages Sale. Proceeds from the Ten Thousand Villages sale support artisans in over 35 countries.

We thank all those non-profit groups who made displays and were represented at the Alternative Gift Fair. You work hard all year round to make our community and world a better place and it is our joy to support your efforts. Congratulations to Rescue Our Furry Friends, who won this year’s People’s Choice Award.

Finally, we would like to thank Thrivent Financial for their support through an Action Grant. It is most helpful and appreciated. And, of course, we thank the members of our congregation for their continued support. We asked you to help us expand this effort to two days, and you came through for us!

The Alternative Gift Fair began 11 years ago as an effort to remember the true reason for the celebration of Christmas. This year, as every year, we give thanks to God for the great gift we’ve been given and for the blessings we’ve received.
