Milroy Lions Club to hold benefit spaghetti dinner

To the editor:

The Milroy Lions Club wishes to announce our November spaghetti supper fundraiser.

The supper will be held on Nov. 21 at the White Memorial Church, Main Street, Milroy. We will serve from 4 to 7 p.m.

Takeout meals will be available, but please limit your number to five meals per request.

The menu will be the same: spaghetti, meatballs, salad, applesauce, bread, desserts and drinks.

As always we will donate the entire net profit to a worthy cause.

This month’s recipient is Holly Weaver. Holly’s late husband was diagnosed with Lyme diseases and made two trips to Idaho for special treatment. He was later found to be suffering from ALS. He was always an active worker both on and off the job. The rigors of ALS slowly took over the physical part of his life. I have heard that ALS is like being trapped in your own body. Tom was eventually confined to a wheelchair the last six months of life. Needless to say, this extended illness has depleted this family’s finances.

Holly has a full-time job and seems to face the realities of life in a truly matter of fact way.

Please come join us as we reach out to help those with special needs.

We thank the general public for their past and continuing support. Your support is what makes our efforts successful.

Please note we will not have a supper in December. We will resume our schedule in January.

We charge by donation only, so everyone can afford to join us.

Come join us for a good meal and a time of fellowship. We do accept donated desserts.
