Academy open house brings back memories

To the editor:

The open house at Mifflin County Academy was a delight. Yes, to the palate but largely in seeing and feeling “the enthusiasm of the students and faculty” encompassing the wide variety of occupational career fields.

I am a Lewistown High School “commercial” graduate which I sincerely value and appreciate, however, follow-on training in the Army Air Force and Temple University Technical Institute opened my lifelong career path in “hands-on electronics.” Clearly, I understand the need for specialized crafts and trades that have been neglected through many years, in fact for decades.

Blessings to our Academy graduates and their promising futures. Great opportunity is alive and waiting. Claim it! Go Owls, “Academy” and “Temple”! Love ya both!
