Thank you for support of Alternative Gift Fair
To the editor:
The Alternative Gift Fair Committee of East Kish Presbyterian Church in Reedsville would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who gave so generously to this year’s Alternative Gift Fair. Whether you attended the fair on Dec. 4, or sent in your donation by mail, please know that your gift will assist in the work done by the 17 participating non-profit groups in the year ahead. Through your generosity, we were able to raise a total of $7,306.41 for these groups.
Because every penny raised goes directly to the non-profits, we would like to thank Thrivent Financial for their grant to help cover the costs of the fair. In addition, a special thank you to Michael Platzer, who donated one of his beautiful paintings, which was raffled off to raise money for expenses.
Also, thank you to the non-profit groups that brought displays of the work they do year round. Congratulations to Shelter Services, Inc. for winning this year’s Best Display Award. Other groups represented were: Habitat for Humanity, Milroy-Reedsville Meals on Wheels, Smile Train, AARF PA, Heifer International, Friends of the Mifflin County Library, LUMINA Center, Reedsville Volunteer Fire Co., Rescue Our Furry Friends, Krislund Camp Scholarship Fund, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, Kish Valley Historical Society, Mifflin-Juniata Pet Food Pantry, The Abuse Network, Santa’s Bookbag and Big Brothers/ Big Sisters.
Finally, we want to thank the congregation of East Kish Presbyterian Church for their enthusiastic support of this, our eighth Alternative Gift Fair.
