Confirm Sen. Sessions as next attorney general
To the editor:
President-elect Trump has chosen his cabinet thoughtfully and logically. His choice of Senator Jeff Sessions to be the next attorney general struck terror in the hearts of both party Progressives who are about to lose their power grab and ability to modify the Constitution.
I’ve reached the conclusion that socialist progressives do not speak for the majority of Democratic voters. This was experienced by the turnout, or lack of turnout, of Democratic voters in the Nov. 8 election. The Republican Party unfortunately must contend with a similar malcontent group. The silent majority, made up of rational Constitutional thinkers of both parties, elected Donald Trump to lead the country for the next four years.
Whether you do or don’t think race, gender, willingness to subvert the Constitution to hide questionable actions is a qualifier for an attorney general appointment is your own personal matter. Jeff Sessions has an admirable record of upholding the rule of law and an ardent defender of the Constitution.
I would suggest that the Sentinel readers call Senator Robert P. Casey (202) 224-6324 and Senator Patrick Toomey (202) 224-4254 and urge them to confirm Senator Sessions as attorney general.
