The rabbits on Glendale and Orchard Grove Avenue are quite enjoyable by most of us who live on these streets. Maybe Derry Township should do something about all the cats doing their business in everyone’s flower beds and porches.

Corman, Harris, Marino, many years now these (lawmakers) have told us of relief from property taxes. … They will not get my vote again.

I just watched on Fox News about the Benghazi thing and Hillary’s response. Anybody, whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, independent or don’t vote at all, if you’re a human being, you should know that what she did was wrong. And how anybody can justify her saying it was based on a video – that’s what she told Americans – and then she told her daughter and the president of Libya it was a terrorist attack. So, how can she get it in her head that she’s fit to be president?

I’m calling about the person that put on about rabbits on Glendale and Orchard Grove Avenue. I was wondering is it that bad that there’s a few rabbits running around, wild rabbits running, there’s deer down in the yards, there’s bear up through, cats, my goodness, just cats all over, that you’re calling and complaining about rabbits? C’mon now.

Are you kidding me? The Trans-Pacific Partnership’s totally disastrous for this country. Are you off your rocker? Didn’t NAFTA teach you a thing? We don’t have any jobs left in this country anymore thanks to NAFTA and the unions. It’s exactly what’s gonna finish off America, is the TPP.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership will increase the standard of living of all American workers, rich and poor.

I can’t believe that everybody thinks Trump’s gonna make things better with overseas jobs whenever he himself has all his stuff made overseas and in Mexico. …

I can hardly wait until Donald Trump wins the presidency ’cause Hillary Clinton has no chance in heck to win it, for one. And even if she would win it by the slightest of margins, it would be a disaster 10 times worse than the last seven and a half years have been for this country. Hillary Clinton just cannot win as the president. She has no clue what she’s doing, just like the current president.

You may learn the truth about the fireworks in Armagh Township from any concerned citizen member of Armagh Township. They will explain why there is no fireworks, there is no flowers around the beautiful square. You have a nice day and learn the truth.

Editor’s note: Armagh Township isn’t having fireworks this year due to the lack of an organizational leader, an official at the Armagh Township office said. That official said the township will attempt to have some recognition of Independence Day in 2017.

My God, the Phillies are on a winning streak. They won two in a row.

The last supervisor in office and the supervisor before him were in charge of the fireworks in Milroy. Maybe you should ask the chairman of the board why he isn’t in charge of the fireworks this year and why they’re not being put off.

I hope Granville Township is getting paid for all the police calls it’s making to the Juniata

Terrace.

I’m calling about the rabbit problem we have over on Glendale Avenue and Orchard Road. Somebody in the winter time left out two rabbits, one was male and one was female, and now we have baby rabbits, black and brown with white noses running all over the neighborhood. I was wondering if Derry Township could do something about it.

Several members of the LGBT community that were at the Orlando shooting told the FBI that they had seen this guy here several times trying to pick up men. Some of them even claimed to have liaisons with him. The Obama administration came out immediately and said there was no evidence that he was a gay Muslim. People, if you don’t think the FBI?is controlled by the president, I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t know how anybody can be a Democrat anymore, including the LGBT community, because according to him, they’re nothing but not telling the truth.

The Tomahawks! The Tomahawks! Why doesn’t everyone know about the Mifflin County Tomahawks?

I hadn’t been to Goodwill store for several months but I went the other night. I was appalled by the dirtiness and disorganization and most of all the prices. Everything has gone up by at least 50 cents. I saw a bar of soap priced at $1.97 which sells for 80 cents at Giant.

Why isn’t Armagh Township having fireworks this year? Please explain.

The TPP proposal by Barack Obama is a disaster. It would mean more American jobs going oversees. We’ve lost enough American jobs to trade agreements. Hillary Clinton will be more of the same. Give the businessman Donald Trump a chance. America needs change.

Wake up America! Are you sick and tired of the shape America is in? Hillary Clinton is not the answer. She is four more years of welfare and food stamps!

I have the comment about the fountain. I know many people have commented about the area. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a flag pole or two flag poles? One with the American and Pennsylvania flag and the other with all the military services on it? It’s right across from the Legion and it’d be nicer than the gas station flag they have up now.

Trump did make America great again. He left for a couple of days. It’s been great ever since!

The reason the Derry Township Supervisors got complaints about the road work is not because the roads aren’t nice, a good job done. The reason was they do the same ones over and over. They don’t look at the road that really needs paved.

I recently moved here from Sandusky, Ohio. … I have a question for the opinion line. I just wondered, does anybody else get people so upset with them when they’re going the speed limit around here? I mean, do people just regularly break the speed limit and when someone who drives the speed limit as it’s posted, everybody seems to get upset with them? I mean, I got the finger flipped to me the other day. I was doing nothing but going the speed limit. Some guy finally was in a passing zone to get around me and flipped me off. And I looked and I’m going 5 mph over the speed limit. So just wanna know from somebody else in the area, is this the way it is or are there just some impatient people behind me?

This speech Donald Trump gave on Wednesday, the 22, hit the nail right on the head. This is the exact same speech Mitt Romney should’ve given four years ago. But he pulled it like a wet noodle like any other Republican probably would’ve that was running. Thank God for Donald Trump. We need more men like this in America to bring America back and put it on its feet again.

Donald Trump makes the old TV character Archie Bunker look like a saint when it comes to

Wow. A whole $2.50 increase in Social Security next year. I think all the politicians in Washington, D.C. should have all their perks taken away from them. Take all that money and put it into Social Security and Medicare. We’d be viable for another 50 years.

To the gentleman on Orchard Grove Avenue burning your rubbish today, which happens to be Tuesday, just a friendly reminder. Burn days are Wednesday and Saturday.

Hillary Clinton trashing Donald Trump in her campaign speech. What we don’t need in America at this critical time is a Hillary Clinton. She’s another four years of Barack Obama and his failed domestic and foreign policy. She would be an absolute disaster.

After listening to Hillary Clinton’s speech on the economy on Tuesday, and her saying about how stagnant the economy is, how people are working harder and longer to pay their bills and to pay for child care. Well, yeah, it’s true. She’s part of the problem. It’s what’s been happening for the last seven and half years and she wants to continue it? Is this lady looney, cuckoo and crazy? I think she is. She’s just admitting that their policies, the Democratic policies are garbage for this country. They do not work.

You know, they say this shooting down in Orlando is the biggest massacre in American history. Well, it just shows you we forget about history. What about Little Big Horn? I think that was the biggest. And it was done without so-called assault weapons.

Editor’s note: Most experts do not consider military operations under the same banner as “mass shootings” which are typically defined as one or more shooters killing or wounding several people in a relatively short amount of time.

I see Tom Wolf finally wised up after over a year. You can’t come into a state and try and rule it with an iron fist like some Russian czar dictator or even like Obama down in the White House. You gotta compromise.

The attorney general, after watching her over the weekend, should be taken out of office immediately. She has no business being the attorney general of the United States. She is so misleading this country, taking the cues from her boss … they all need to go. … This attorney general needs to go. Tell the truth about Islamic terrorism.

The primary reason that history is destined to repeat itself is because so few people have actually been willing to listen.

I would just like to let people know in the midst of all this campaign name calling and the shootings, there are still good things happening. Habitat for Humanity has a program called “Rush of Kindness.” They recently did some outside work for me, which I appreciate very much. I thank them and I pray that they keep up the good work.

Given the blighted condition of our downtown shopping district, I would think it would do a heck of a lot more to revitalize the local stores by ripping the meters out and allowing free parking. It would get a lot more revenue in the stores and businesses if you get rid of the parking meters. The fact is, why are we paying to park in this blighted downtown at all? The kids should be allowed to park there for free. You do more to revitalize by ripping those meters out.

Hating sin is holy. Trying to help a person turn from sin to the Lord is an act of love.

I realize that there are people out there who will never, ever accept the truth that President Obama is not a Muslim nor ever has been. What I don’t understand is why The Sentinel feels it needs to continue publishing these falsehoods. Instead of putting the disclaimer underneath the comment, just don’t print it in the first place. I know from experience, you don’t print every comment you receive.

Yes, once again we pick up the paper and another motorcycle accident, no helmets. Now, we have to have seat belts on in a car or we’re fined. Here are these people on a motorcycle, out totally in the opening, and yet, they don’t have to wear a helmet. C’mon, there’s something wrong with this law. In a car, at least we’re protected better than what they are. … But yet these people are left to go? How many more deaths and severe injuries are we gonna see ’til we get some laws passed? When we pass them, put them in force, keep them

moving.

We may never rid the world of hate, but we shouldn’t arm people that are full of hatred.

In answer to the question asked in Saturday’s editorial about Obama: He was raised as a muslim, born to a muslim father. That’s why his sympathy lies with muslims. He will always be a muslim at heart and nothing will ever change that. It’s a simple answer. He’s a muslim!

Editor’s Note: In interviews regarding his religion, President Barack Obama has stated that he is a Christian.

I would just like to clarify for the individual who asked about how the Juniata County School District allows clerical staff to get off on Friday with pay:

That is because we work Monday through Thursday for 10 hours a day to get our 40 hours in.

If Juniata county school district has to raise real estate taxes to keep a roof on and pay pension obligations, they should not even think about spending money on a new building. Once again, they took the easy way of raising money and squeezing the real estate owner and letting the renters and freeloaders alone.

Really, Juniata County PennDOT? Mowing Route 322 for the second time this season while the back roads are grown shut? It’s time for one of two things: Get a mowing contract or get a change of leadership at PennDOT.

Hatred is not holy.

(Tuesday) was Flag Day. The flags on the square are a disgrace to Lewistown and our flags. They need cleaned or replaced.

My comment’s in regard to yard sales. They should be permitted only once a year by permit only. And a lot of times people need to consider their neighbors who do not want the extra traffic and noise and people parking in their yards and blocking their driveways. If you ask me, most of the stuff people put out for yard sales should be thrown away anyhow. All it does is create a lot of noise and confusion for the people’s neighbors, all for what? Nickels and dimes?

I realize that some people have problems with their genders, but I feel that they’re carrying this too far now allowing people to go into whatever bathroom they please. I think that’s gonna cause other problems. And they allow them in locker rooms? Other problems. … I don’t believe in bullying. I really don’t. But it’s time we protect the people that don’t have a problem also. I’m afraid this is going to open a whole can of worms, something we don’t want.

That was a sweet and tender story in (Wednesday’s) Sentinel about Scott Dunn. His classmates and teachers should be commended for making this such a memorable day for this young man. God bless you, Scott, and God bless the Class of 2016 at East Juniata High School.

I see registration’s going up again. What have you people been doing with all the money you’ve been getting? You sure haven’t been working on the roads. I can’t believe every time that they need to do something they need to raise taxes. I think what we ought to do is pass a law that every time they raise taxes, all politicians take a 5 percent pay cut. That would soon fix it.

In the wake of the Orlando tragedy, only one presidential candidate’s response amounts to petty name calling, outrageous accusations with no hint of truth to them and self-righteous self praise. Trump is so unfit to be president, it’s no longer funny. Now it’s scary that he’s the candidate.

Talk about somebody that’s defensive. I would say Obama fits that bill pretty good when he’s being criticized for not calling Islamic terrorism “Islamic terrorism.” Call it what it is. If it walks and talks like a duck, then it’s a duck.

I just read the story about Scott Dunn and the special graduation. What a wonderful outpouring of love and support in the community at East Juniata High School that they could have a second graduation for him. I had tears in my eyes when I read that article. God must have a special purpose for that young man that his life was spared from such a horrible accident. I hope he goes on to lead a wonderful, happy, healthy life. He surely deserves it.

Unless you believe that Christians are personally responsible for everything the KKK and the Westboro Baptist Church does, stop blaming Islam for the actions of one mentally ill person. They didn’t pick a burning cross as a symbol for no reason.

If the Mifflin County School District wants to own all the land out around the Indian Valley Elementary School, the least they could do is keep the grass cut. You couldn’t find a ball out in the outfield at the baseball field behind the school if your life depended on it.

That was a very nice, uplifting story The Sentinel had on Monday, June 13, about the young man Scott Dunn who was in the car crash. That was very nice of his school to be able to allow him to have his own private graduation. I thought that was a very nice story. It was a very nice, uplifting story in this day and age.

These people going on about guns. Nobody, nobody has taken anybody’s guns away from them. Especially you hunters. Nobody has tried taking any of your guns. Yes, terrible mass destructive instruments that are out there for the people are tried to be taken away. But if you don’t have them, you don’t have to worry.

There’s only one direction you can point your finger to find the culprit that happened in Orlando and all these other places, and that’s into the White House. It’s Barack Hussein Obama. He’s tying the hands of everybody – the FBI, the military. He pulled us out of the Middle East. It’s all because of him. Thank you Barack Hussein Obama. And Hillary Clinton’s gonna be more of the same.

I really think Hillary Clinton is totally correct. We must take all the guns away from all the citizens to prevent all this violent shooting. If we get the guns out of the regular people’s hands, then the violent shooting should stop. If it doesn’t, then all we have to do is blame Hillary Clinton.

We didn’t pray for drunk driving fatalities to resolve themselves. We passed sweeping laws and accidents dropped precipitously.

Don’t you just hate it when you’re accused of something that you didn’t do in your own family and your family members know, they don’t give you a break but you know that you’re innocent and God knows you’re innocent? So, you shouldn’t throw stones in glass houses.

I’m calling about the person that made the comment about Vietnam veterans. I was a Vietnam veteran and I really thanked the person for thanking me and we should remember all the military, not just the Vietnam vets. I appreciate it.

If you defend the NRA’s interpretation of the Second Amendment, you defend this and any mass shooting that is politically motivated. People who believe themselves to be arming themselves and fighting for a political cause are the NRA’s core demographic. The NRA fights laws against background checks, against mandatory weapons training, against regulations on rapid casualty-causing weapons. The NRA is a hate group.

(Sunday) on the news and (Monday) morning on the news, 50 people slaughtered with guns. They talk about guns, but look at the people that’s doing it. A radical … an Islamic-type radical, yet Obama is the only one, we’re the only country that don’t acknowledge that. All the other countries do. And here you hear ATF and FBI saying “Aw, how well this person did this” … How about focusing on getting rid of the source. What are you gonna do about it, Obama? Let’s get in there and let’s be tough. But no, can’t do that, can he? Just let it drag on and drag on. And they want Hillary in there? No. …

Want to be truly happy? Mind your own business, keep your opinions to yourself, stop gossiping, lying and pray for others.

Why do people get so much joy from other people’s problems, family or friends? People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. All we have to do is look in a mirror to see our own faults. God does not want us to condemn others. He wants us to love them. Try keeping your mouth shut and your heart open.

Why not give Trump a chance? Our country has not done very well with Obama at the wheel the last eight years. Hillary will follow in his footsteps or worse.

Your Second Amendment rights are in jeopardy. Barack Obama wants your guns. A vote for Hillary Clinton is four more years of Barack Obama. Your Second Amendment rights will be gone.

Just because she’s a woman and her name’s Clinton doesn’t make Hillary the greatest presidential nominee this country has ever had. The voters in this country need to wake up. I’m not a Donald Trump fan, but he looks like an angel compared to her. We need to look at the candidate instead of who they are before we vote.

Hillary stands behind the court ruling 1,000 percent that only rich people and celebrities can carry weapons. She vows to appoint judges to the Supreme Court that will stick to that decision and who will not be afraid to look at the Second Amendment and rethink what private gun ownership should mean in this country. Look out folks: no guns, no borders. I’m scared. I’m scared to death for this country if a Democrat gets in.

It’s astonishing the tough questions that Miss America was asked about the direction America is and should be going. Hillary Clinton doesn’t get anywhere near those kinds of questions. She’s always given a pass. The Democrats are all given a pass by the liberal media. I knew it before he was elected; that this was why no one knew about Barack Hussein Obama before his election.

Concerning this Juniata County elementary school consolidation. I can’t believe the teachers’ association hasn’t weighed in on this because, guess what people? American businesses have left and gone to China. They continue to do so. American jobs went with them. How much stuff do you buy that has “Made in China” stamped on it? A vote for Donald Trump is a vote to make America great again.

I wonder how much more Trump can get away with. It’s all about his ego, proving people will still vote for him, no matter what he says. It’s sad to know there are people just like him.

This is for all the people that do all their mowing and put their first line of grass out into the street. Please be very aware that there are motorcyclists that go up and down these streets and if that grass is wet and thick, it can cause an accident. And I’m sure that you don’t realize it, so I’m just asking, for anyone to please, instead of mowing toward the street, please mow the first couple of rows toward your property and then mow it back out and it won’t go out into the street. Please save a life. Please mow right and please keep the roads clear.

The Pennsylvania legislators voting to loosen up control on takeout sales of beer and wine and allow these items to be sold in convenience stores and as takeout items, they, personally, are going to be responsible for a lot of deaths, a lot of accidents, a lot of people are gonna get killed. There’s gonna be a lot more accidents because of this. I feel this is a huge, huge mistake. We already have too many people out on the road not paying attention to what they’re doing, smoking, texting, doing all kinds of things and the idea of making liquor more available is just gonna lead to a lot more drunks on the road and a lot more innocent people who have their lives lost.

Editor’s note: The measure passed by the state legislature only deals with the sale of beer and wine. Rules regarding the sale of liquor remain unchanged by this measure.

I agree with the caller concerning the paving in Derry Township. Why weren’t we notified or at least a small block printed in The Sentinel? This is downright inconsiderate for a residential area. It’s just too bad I had to learn of it from a courtesy call from the garbage collector.

This is June 6, the anniversary of D-Day. Am I mistaken or was the only reference I saw in The Sentinel to D-Day in a comic strip featuring Snoopy? This is June 6, the anniversary of D-Day.

I’m getting lots of phone calls, more every day. They call and won’t say anything. Or they call about my car, a time share, a back brace, etc. I don’t have caller ID. Can I do anything about this?

Why is it that Snoopy was the only one in your paper that could remember D-Day?

My comment’s in regard to Derry Township. You people dropped the ball here. You’re paving in my neighborhood (Monday) and had I not seen the trucks in my neighborhood the other day and called your offices, the people in my neighborhood would never know you’re paving and we would be trapped in our driveways. Don’t you think it’s a common courtesy to let people know when you’re paving in their neighborhood so they’re not trapped in their driveway and stuck all day? …

Put your seat belts on. Trump’s campaign is about to nose dive.

I am 50 years old. Recently, I was told I shouldn’t consume dairy products because they’re not good for me. This is ridiculous. I’ve been eating dairy products my whole life, my weight is ideal and I recently had a health screening done … last month. My test results were always in perfect range. I’m going to keep enjoying my dairy products.

You know Elvis was so famous and made a lot of money, and yet, he went into the Army. Here you have the former Cassius Clay, which became known as Muhammad Ali. Yet look at some of our veterans from Vietnam. How much heroes were they considered? … And here you got a guy that’s a hero and very little recognition in past years of the Vietnam veterans. I’m from that era. I had friends who were killed there. …

I agree with the caller in (Monday’s) Sentinel opinion line that said we should say something nice about people. This is so true. I live in an apartment complex and I hear people saying “I hate her” and “I don’t want anything to do with him.” This is really childish.

To the person who called in with the blue car with the radar gun. Yes state police do use unmarked cars to do speeding. Where have you been?

To the people who are voting for Hillary. I would sooner have Trump in there, she has lied too many times.

How pleasant it is to read in the Open Line the positive remarks given by people who are thankful for all of life’s blessings. It was a reminder of one I read in the column some time back that stated briefly,”How great this world would be if we would say something good about each other,” rather than making a negative statment.

I’m calling about the transgender issue that’s going on. God made you a man or a woman. That’s what you all are. If you choose to feel otherwise, you shouldn’t have to go to a different bathroom. If you’re a man, you go to the men’s room; if you’re a woman, you go to the women’s room. God doesn’t make mistakes.

How excited will you be when President Trump starts his trade wars and that flatscreen TV that once cost you $200 will now cost you $500?

On Klondike Drive, there is a building that looks like it used to be a church. The weeds are nearly two feet high and piles of moldy, wet carpet are piled there, posing a potential health hazard. The building is deteriorating. Shouldn’t Granville Township take some action? At least remove the old carpet.

How can you old-time Democrats vote to stay with this Socialist party that it’s become? Think for yourself. Do you really, really want the government to run everything in your life?

On May 28, at the bottom of the Seven Mountains toward Milroy, there was a blue car sitting in the median. The man behind the wheel had what looked like a radar gun. There was absolutely no way to tell it was a police officer. There was absolute nothing marking that car as an officer of the law. How are our sons and daughters supposed to know whether or not a policeman is pulling them over if the car isn’t marked? Lights aren’t enough. The vehicle should be identified. Mark the vehicle for our safety, for our assurance.

An evil leader will not come with a big mouth and a sharp tongue and nasty comments about others. He or she will do and say whatever it needs to get what it wants. The wolf will come in sheep’s clothing, not in plain sight.

I am embarrassed and ashamed of the verbal attacks made by all our presidential candidates. It’s going to be difficult to respect one as our president. What must other countries think of this behavior?

I’m pleased that Commissioner Dunkle cried uncle and restored the funding to the library. It was the right thing to do and we expect that type of action from our elected officials and not to be petty.

This is for Wayne Township. Could you please put some street lights on the two intersections by Mount Union, the one by the Jimmy DiCosimo Bypass and the other one by the Neu Bridge? Those intersections are very dark and they are very hard to see at night. Please give us some safety and put some street lights there.

For those who are interested, former secretary of the Army John McHugh was the top Republican on the Armed Services Committee when he was chosen by President Obama.

Hi, your caller of a few days ago, certainly does not listen to the same Rush Limbaugh I listen to, because he is definitely a Trump supporter, but the other caller said he was not. Better listen a little carefully.

I had a young fellow the other day ask me if he could cut my grass every week or when needed. He wanted to help out a WWII veteran. This happened in the Borough of Lewistown. It sure is much appreciated. He’s doing this free of charge.

Donald Trump is so good at manipulating. He has it down to a science. He is deployling every tactic in the book and he never answers a question. He regurgitates back to people and he’s excellent at it. This is why he is where he’s at today … It’s like watching a magic show. He’ll pull a coin out of your ear and have you think he actually did it.

You talk about fixing potholes in alleys. How about fixing that pothole I saw at the four-way stop sign by the old high school?

The Sentinel should be praised for the excellent article about the slow Chesapeake Bay clean-up. Unfortunately, more regulations will be needed as few people will voluntarily reduce their runoff pollution.

I’ve been following the news reports about Steve Dunkle and the library and frankly, I think he needs to let it go. Stop dwelling on the past, look to the future, and frankly, a written letter of apology is simply trying to humilate the people on the board and Molly Kinney. He just needs to let it go.

My comment is in regard to Kiernan Schalk’s article in Monday’s paper about the WWII veteran who was a POW. That was a wonderful article, keep them coming. Those historical articles are wonderful and informative.

There’s enough restaurants, bars and beer distributors that sell beer. Gas stations don’t need a license to sell beer. It’s a bad idea.

Gee, over 60 people shot and three killed in Chicago over the weekend in three days? I thought guns were illegal to have in Chicago. Shows you how well gun control works. It works zero for the criminals.

Editor’s note: While Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun control measures in the country, only certain types of firearms, including automatic and certain semi-automatic “assault weapons” are prohibited.

As many people are saying, look at the news media now the past few days of that little boy who fell into the moat of the gorilla cage. Here, one big fuss over killing of the gorilla. I mean, nationwide news, that’s all you hear is about the gorilla, the killing of the gorilla and how sad it is. Yet, 3,000 babies, as has been posted by other people, over 3,000 babies yearly are aborted or killed through negligence and through people getting the operation to kill the babies and nothing’s said. Where do we stand?

I just came from the recycling bins in Belleville. Empty your plastics out of the bags, no bags allowed. Just because it’s plastic, doesn’t mean it’s recyclable. If it doesn’t have a 1 or 2 on it, it isn’t recyclable. And please, rinse your containers out. Thank you.

I have a comment about the heroin overdoses and stuff in the area in our state. I saw that our state is the highest among all heroin overdoses. The way to deter that is anybody caught selling heroin, automatic life sentence in prison. This thing of slapping their fingers and saying “Don’t you do this again,” that’s not working. Somebody’s selling heroin, they’re selling poison to people. That’s attempted homicide as far as I’m concerned. Life sentence without parole. Get them off the street.

The trouble with the library funding is not Steve Dunkle. Yes, he’s withholding the funds, but Lisa Nancollas is making it possible for him to harm the entire library system. I hope Lisa will soon stand up for Mifflin County… Lisa and Kevin, please help our libraries now.

While I was out and about on Memorial Day weekend, I stopped at a local fire company for barbecue chicken. I notice they have a flagpole, but no flag on it. …

You know, when you stop to think of it, veterans here in Lewistown gave their lives to give us a free country over here. But yet, we can’t even do as much as show them any respect on Memorial Day. Now, every place else has parades or something. What did we have? Nothing. But, oh boy, come Halloween, we’ll have a big Halloween parade and everything, and Santa Claus. But what about our veterans that died to keep us free? Santa Claus didn’t and the people dressed up in Halloween costumes didn’t. What is getting to be wrong with this town? Something drastically looks ridiculous around here. When you look in the paper and every place else is observing it, didn’t our veterans in Lewistown count? Was it only McVeytown and other places that they counted? C’mon, wake up. Let’s respect our veterans

here, too.

My daughter and I went to (a local restaurant) last week and were extremely surprised when told our bill was paid by the generous lady in front of us. It just warms my heart to know that our community is so giving.
