Share love in all its forms with those you care about

Today is Valentine’s Day. And while most of the thoughts of love and affection on this day are of the romantic variety, the truth is that a significant number of the population may not have a “significant other” with whom to celebrate.

But Feb. 14 need not be for romantic couples alone. In fact, wouldn’t it be a great idea to show the people in your life just how much you care about them?

That isn’t to say you need to kiss and hug everyone (please don’t unless that person is OK with it) or even say the words “I love you.”

For family members, it can be as easy as calling your parents, your siblings, your aunts, uncles or cousins and catching up with them.

For friends and coworkers, it can be something as simple as saying “I appreciate you,” letting someone know you think they’re doing a great job at work or even going out to hang out with friends.

It can be easy if you are single or widowed to view Valentine’s Day as a reminder of what you don’t have. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Spend time with whomever you can. It will remind you that there are people in this world you love and people in this world who love you.

What could be more worth celebrating than that?
