Joan S. Snook
Joan S. Snook, 94, formerly of Beaver Springs passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
She was born Oct. 1, 1931 in Beaver Springs, a daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Rearick) Shirey. On June 17, 1951 she married A. Neal Snook who preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1999.
Joan was a graduate of Beaver Vocational High School with the class of 1949.
She was a member of Beaver Lutheran Church, Beavertown.
Joan was a member of the Beaver Springs Fire Co. women’s auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, sewing, bus trips, vacations, and playing pinochle with the chit chat club. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by four children, Beth Ann Nerino, Pam (Bill) Weaver, Gregory Snook, and Todd (Darlene) Snook; 10 grandchildren, Anthony, Erica, Marisa, Aaron, Travis, Ashley, Jordan, Alicia, Amanda, and Jadon; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Richard (Patsy) Shirey.
Joan was preceded in death by one brother, John Shirey; five sisters, Kathryn Eadline, Dorothy Kracht, Dorine Turotsy, Barbara Shirey, and Donna Markley; one daughter-in-law, Paula Snook; and one son-in-law, Edward Nerino.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Beaver Lutheran Church, 18207 Route 522, Beavertown followed by the funeral service at 11:30 with Rev. Larry Herrold officiating.
Burial will follow in Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Joan’s memory may be made to Beaver Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
