Kenneth A. Reed, Jr.

Kenneth A. Reed, Jr., 83, of Milroy, passed away at 4:05 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
He was born on June 10, 1942, in Reedsville, to the late Kenneth A. Reed, Sr. and Carrie (Kline) Reed. On Aug. 2, 1964, he married Hazel I. (Goss) Reed. She survives at their home.
Also surviving are: his daughters, Holly Harpster and husband Leon of Ridgeway, S.C.; Christina Rager and husband Kirk of Reedsville; Amy Spickler and husband Kyle of Milroy; six grandchildren, Jordanne Kittrell, Kelley Yoder, Mia Evans, Colt Spickler, Casey Spickler and Cohen Spickler; six great-grand- children; and two sisters, Karen Reed of Reedsville and Shirley Sullivan and husband Dennis of Lakeland, Fla.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Connie Goss.
Ken was a graduate of Kishacoquillas High School. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He retired in 2000 as a supervisor in Machine Shop One at Standard Steel.
Ken was a member of Reedsville United Methodist Church, a dedicated member of the Milroy Lions Club where he previously served as both president and secretary for several years. He was also a member of Coffee Run Fishing Club.
Ken enjoyed fishing, and he loved his frequent trips to Sam’s Club. He was an avid Penn State football fan and season ticket holder. He was also a Philadelphia Phillies fan as well as a devoted fan and regular attendee of his grandson’s ball games. He was extremely proud of all of his family.
His family will receive friends and a visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 10 a.m. until noon. His funeral service will begin at noon at Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 E. Logan St., Reedsville, with Pastor Cathy Dawes officiating. Burial will take place at Church Hill Cemetery following the service.
