Gerald L. Laub

Gerald L. Laub, 86, of Walker Street, McClure, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 16, 1935 in Mifflin County, a son of the late Lester H. and Mae E. (Goss) Laub. He was married to Edna S. (Snook) Laub who survives.

Gerald graduated from McClure High school.

He was employed throughout his life at the Millersburg Shirt Factory, Jack E. Hess Construction in Burnham, the American Viscose from where he retired after 38 years. He and his wife owned Edna’s Ceramics and G.L. Laub Surplus.

Gerald was an avid hunter, he traveled to Canada for more than 50 years to hunt bear.

He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Suriving in addition to his wife is one son and daughter in law, Gerald L. Jr. and Tammy Laub of McClure; grandchildren, Ashley Wetzel and husband Eric, Erick Decker and wife Denyel and Nichole Snyder and husband Christopher; great-grandchildren, Avery and Jordyn Wetzel, Brinley and Nicholas Decker, Kayleigh, Kaidence and Miles Snyder; two sisters and one brother in law, Louella Ritter and companion Rodney Snook and Bonnie and James Jones; one sister in law, Shirley Laub.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Erdnal Laub; two half-brothers, Clair and Robert Laub; four sisters, Jean Knepp, Carol Schmidt, Marion Irene and Marcy Joetta in infancy; one half-sister, Irma Mildred in infancy.

Friends and family will be received from 10 until 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown where the funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lisa Schuster officiating.

Burial will follow in Black Oak Ridge Cemetery.
