Beverly J. (Harmon) Bell

Beverly J. (Harmon) Bell, 87, of Pearl Street, Reedsville, was taken into the arms of angels at 10:47 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.

She was born on May 3, 1934 in Belleville, a daughter of the late Paul and Annabelle (O’Neil) Russler. On April 11, 1953, she married Thomas E. Harmon Jr. who passed away on Dec. 4, 2004. In 2013, she married Carl Bell who passed away on Oct. 15, 2019.

She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah D. Hull and husband John H. of Bellefonte; and Jamie E. Havice of Reedsville, her four grandchildren, Jody Hull, Rebekah Thieu, Adam Havice and his fiancee Mary Dippery, and Parker Havice, as well as two great-grandchildren, Kaya and Chase Thieu, a sister, Kay Estright and husband Gary of Granville, and a number of special nieces. Along with her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary ”Tiny” Voytek and a son-in-law, Jack Havice.

Beverly retired from Krautkramer Branson where she worked in the Transducer/Engineering department. Following her retirement, she was employed by the Mifflin County School District where she worked in the cafeteria. She was also active in volunteer work from time to time. In her earlier employment years, Beverly was a supervisor at Fisher Electronics and also worked at Centre Engineering and Greenwood Furnace Nursery.

She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Belleville and had attended Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church in Reedsville.

She enjoyed knitting afghans and scarves, doing macrame with lawn chairs, painting, and reading, especially her many Bibles. She liked watching baseball and old westerns on television. In her earlier years, she would go rock climbing at the local YMCA. Beverly especially loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also offered her support by visiting with her family and friends that were hospitalized or ailing. She was a great nurturer and caregiver, and would put other people’s needs and concerns before her own. She always managed to keep herself busy.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Belleville with Pastors Ela Robertson and Gerald Peachey officiating. Burial will take place following the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
