Sara Detweiler, 81, formerly of Fairview, Mich., died Monday, Oct. 18, at her home after more than five years battling cancer.
She was born April 13, 1940, in Belleville, to Irvin and Lena (Zook) Roth.
She married Reuel Detweiler on Aug. 10, 1963, in Allensville.
He survives along with three sons, Craig (Tonya), Lavon (Dawn) and Todd (Katelynn), all of Goshen; eight grandchildren, Alex, Lauren, William (Tessa), Jackson, Nathan, Jenna, Harrison and Sawyer; a sister, Marjorie Yoder, Middlebury; and two sisters-in- law, Joy and Shirley Roth.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Jay Roth; a brother-in- law, Ray Yoder; and a sister-in-law, Elsie Roth.
Mrs. Detweiler was a former member of Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, Mich. and current member of Clinton Frame Church, Goshen. She work- ed as a social services director for more than 20 years in long term care facilities.
Sara was a dedicated, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and wintering in Florida for many years with her husband, Reuel.
According to her wishes, cremation will take place at the Yoder-Culp Crematory. Private family services have been held. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Nov. 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Clinton Frame Church, Goshen.
