Ralph E. Goodling Jr.
Ralph E. Goodling Jr., 80, was called home at 11:49 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on April 16, 1941 in Juniata County, he was the son of the late Ralph E. Goodling Sr. and Jessie I. (Dillman) Baker and her second husband Henry E.J. Baker.
On July 27, 1963 he married his surviving wife Sandra K. (Fry) Goodling with whom he was blessed to share 57 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his two children that he adored, Norman H. Goodling and his wife Kim L. Goodling; and one daughter, Lorie A. Musselman and her husband William L. Musselman III all of McClure. He is further survived by grandchildren, Jessica Carson and fiance Jared Henry, Norman Goodling Jr. and his wife Amanda Goodling, Brandi Romig and companion Josh Showers, Ryan Romig and his wife Samantha Romig, Marissa Ross and her husband Tyler Ross, Brenna Butcosk and Brooks Butcosk; and 12 great grandchildren.
Ralph served in the United States Army for 3 years from 1959 until 1962 during the Vietnam War. He then served in the Army reserved until he was discharged in 1965.
He retired from Roadway Express on March 1, 2003. In Ralph’s spare time he enjoyed drag racing, hunting, camping, fishing, spending time with his wife and family and continuing his passion as a mechanic working at Cocolamus Creek Disposal.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 24 at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 25 at McClure Union Cemetery.
