William K. ‘Bill’ Wilson

William K. “Bill” Wilson, 99, formerly of Reedsville, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Valley View Haven Retirement Community.

Born Sept. 24, 1921, in Dilltown, he was the son of the late Jesse C. and Oly (Poling) Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Freda (Crum) Wilson; siblings, Merle, Dorothy, Elvy, Dow and June Wilson, Laura Elder, Dorothy Kane and Betty Graham and a son-in-law, Dr. Eric McDonald.

Bill is survived by his loving children: Sandy Aurentz and husband John, of Annville, Joan McDonald, of Everett and Sharon Hagerty and husband James, of Lewistown; Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He served in The United States Air Force from 1943-1945, participating in the Air Force Cadet Program and later serving in the reserves from 1945 until 1981, retiring as a Major.

Bill was employed as a licensed life insurance agent for Prudential Life Insurance for over thirty years until he retired in 1981. He was a man of many passions including: hunting, fishing, gardening and building things around his home.

He was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Yeagertown.

A graveside service in loving memory of Bill will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Church Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Philip Tundel to officiate.

Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
