Norman Willard Davis

Norman Willard Davis, 83, of McAlevy’s Fort, went to heaven on April 16, 2021.

Born Dec. 8, 1937, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late John Cornelius and Elva (Conrad) Davis. On Oct. 27, 1962, he married Jean Elisabeth (Lake) and they spent many happy years together.

He graduated from Huntingdon Area High School in 1956. He then entered the U.S. Air Force in December of 1956 and served for four years. He was stationed in Korea and Great Falls, Montana; he remained deeply interested in both places throughout his life. He returned home to his family’s farm and became a successful dairy farmer. In his youth, he was a member of 4-H and FFA. He very much enjoyed traveling and took his family to Disney World in Flordia, Colorado, Wyoming, and Ontario. He particularly enjoyed bass fishing on the lakes near the Lake Opinicon Lodge.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by a daughter Kelly Davis, of Seattle, WA, a son, William Reed Davis & his wife Karen (Hinish), of McAlevy’s Fort, and their children, William T. Davis, Becca Hardy & husband Tucker and Emily Frankhouser & husband Brandon, all of McAlevy’s Fort. His family was a great source of pride and joy for him. Also surviving are his four siblings, Phyllis Groninger, of Camp Hill; Harold Davis & wife Harriet, of McAlevy’s Fort; Doris Zucca & husband Louis, of Vineland, NJ; and Marlene Sampsell, of Milton, PA.

His graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, at United Presbyterian Cemetery in McAlevy’s Fort with Amy Hartman officiating.
