L. Joann Lindsey

L. Joann Lindsey, 86, of Lewistown, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family.

Born Nov. 7, 1934, in Decatur Township, she was the daughter of the late Russell V. and Naomi P. (Bowersox) Knepp. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lindsey, nine brothers, four sisters and grandchildren, Jared Wagner and Erin Lindsey.

Joann is survived by her loving children: Elaine Wagner and husband Dale, of McClure, Kevin Lindsey and wife Colette, of Lewistown and Kurvin Lindsey, of Oregon; a brother, Gary L. Knepp and wife Pat, of McClure; grandchildren, Jamon Wagner and wife Joy, of Elizabethtown, Jodi Lynn Wagner, of McClure, Janae Smith and husband Brian, of Lewistown, Eric Lindsey, of Lewistown, Jerrin Wagner, of McClure, Chad Lindsey and wife Allison, of Manheim, Devin Lindsey, of Nescopeck, Ian Lindsey, of Lewistown, Kelby Lindsey, of Nescopeck and great-grandchildren, Benjamon Wagner, Ryanna Smith, Dawn Wagner, Nathaniel Wagner, E. Zachary Smith and Rhys Lindsey.

Joann was graduated from McClure Highschool in 1952.

Earlier in life, Joann was employed at The Selinsgrove State School, Beaver Shoe Factory, Fisher Electronics, and retired from Avtex Fibers.

She was an active member of Paintersville CMA Church.

Joann was a past president of the Nittany Antiques Machine Show, participating in the fall and spring show at Penns Cave. She also served as a 4-H leader and president of The Decatur Fire Company Auxiliary for 50 years. She was very passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making time to attend all of their sporting events over the years.

A funeral service in loving memory of Joann will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Paintersville CMA Church, 3195 Back Maitland Rd., Lewistown, with Pastor John Lucas to officiate.

There will be a viewing held at King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday April 7, 2021, and an additional viewing held at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will take place in Samuel’s Church Cemetery.
