Arlene S. Heckert Johnson Wentle

Arlene S. Heckert Johnson Wentle went home to her Lord and Savior on Jan. 14, 2021 and heard “well done good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21)

Born July 25, 1933 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Bowersox) Heckert. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband and soulmate Wm H. Johnson in March of 1976 and her second husband and soulmate James S. Wentle whom passed away in August 2018, and sisters: Jane Stewart and Grace Fry. Surviving is her loving brother Jack Heckert.

Arlene is survived by her loving children: Cheryl Clark, of Tunkhannock, Kathy Heeter, Bob Johnson and wife Janine, and Phyllis Varner and husband Cole, all of Lewistown; stepchildren: James Wentle, of Burnham, Cathy McClenahen and husband Dan, of Reedsville and Terry Wentle, of Gardners; grandchildren, Christopher Isenberg and wife Lauren, Megan Bowers and husband Chris, Andrea Brechbiel and husband Scott and Lyndie Sipe and husband Doug; stepgrandchildren, Geoffrey Wentle, Matt McClenahen and Megan Boyer; great-grandchildren, Talia Isenberg, Caitlin Zimmerman, Tylyn and Rylie Snavely, Noah Bowers and Bode Sipe; 4 stepgreat-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, Paisley Ritter and Kenlee Geiswite.

Earlier in life, Arlene was employed for many years at The Sears Catalog Store in Burnham as a clerk.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was very involved in numerous committees. She was also a member of The Lewistown Moose Lodge No. 143. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and crocheting. Most of all, Arlene enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

Details of a service will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of The King-Barr Funeral Home LLC & Crematory, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
