Gordon J. Renninger

Gordon J. Renninger, of McClure, passed away due to COVID-19 on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 at Valley View Haven, Belleville.

Born May 8, 1928, in McClure, he was the son of the late Bruce D. and Mertie (Knepp) Renninger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: brothers, Bobby, Wally, Gerald and John Renninger and two grandsons, Erin and Arron Steffen.

Gordon is survived by: wife, Evelyn (Loht) Renninger, married May 8, 1948; daughter, Connie Henry and husband, Dennis of McClure, son, Darvin Renninger and companion, Trudy Oburn of McClure, Son, Scott Renninger and wife, Sue of McClure, daughter, Jan Steffen of Lewistown. Siblings, Bill Renninger and wife, Janet of Millerstown, Percy Renninger of Belleville, Janet Zeiders and husband, Paul of Granville, Dean Renninger and wife, JoAnne of McClure, Lynn Renninger and wife, Arla of McClure, La Ray Renninger and wife, Joyce of Pottstown, and sister-in-law, Mae Renninger of McClure. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Bannerville Church of the Brethren

Early in his life Gordon worked for Decatur township. He later worked as a mechanic at Brower’s Trucking, Crown Motor Freight, Noerr’s Motor Freight, and Ryder.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 6.
