Charles W. ‘Short’ Armstrong Sr.

Charles W. “Short” Armstrong Sr., 90, of Reedsville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at Valley View Haven.

Born Feb. 10, 1930, in Reedsville, he was a son of the late Harry Leroy and Pearl S. (Dippery) Armstrong.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Carol Ann (Armstrong) Ebersole; siblings, Harry Armstrong Jr., Larry Armstrong and Sarah Jane Christianson; and a son-in-law, Robert Ebersole.

He is survived by: wife, Mary Elizabeth (Hunt) Armstrong, whom he married July 13, 1951; sons, Charles W. Armstrong Jr. and wife, Beth, of Milroy, and Timothy R. Armstrong and wife, Marjorie, of Paxinos; six grandchildren, Timber Ebersole, Robert W. Ebersole, Peter Ebersole, Jenny Armstrong, Kristopher Armstrong, Rachelle Armstrong; three great-grandchildren, Kinlee Ebersole, Claire E. Krushinskie and Reese J. Krushinskie; and a sister, Linda Rudy, of Elliottsburg.

Charles was a 1948 Reedsville High School graduate.

He entered the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War in 1951-1952.

Charles was a service manager at Suburban Propane where he retired after 40 years of service.

He enjoyed woodworking, hunting for deer, taking walks, and watching sports.

No services will be held.
